3. How Inc Authority and LegalZoom Stack Together

Both companies offer $0 basic plans which greatly benefit new business owners.

LegalZoom offers a more diverse choice of packages that range from LLC formation to legal services.

Inc Authority's business financing and accounting services distinguish it from LegalZoom. However, Venture Smarter has found that the company does not feature transparent pricing, which can be a red flag to potential clients.

According to Salsify's 2025 Consumer Research report, 87% of shoppers say they will pay more for a product from a brand they trust [1].

Side-by-Side LLC Plan Comparisons

Top view of money and calculator

From Venture Smarter's perspective, Inc Authority and LegalZoom offer everything you need in their LLC formation packages.

1. Basic Plan Comparison: Inc Authority Basic vs LegalZoom Basic

  • Inc Authority’s Basic Package ($0 + state fees): The plan includes a business name check, formation document filing, free registered agent service for a year, EIN registration, digital document storage, tax consultation and planning, as well as business funding analysis.
  • LegalZoom's Basic Package ($0 + state fees): The package includes filing of the formation documents, name search, a digital welcome packet, and a tax consultation through 1-800Accountant. A client of mine found it helpful that the digital welcome packet includes a guide on maintaining an LLC after the business has been approved and registered.

2. Mid-Level Plan Comparison: Inc Authority Starter vs LegalZoom Pro

  • Inc Authority’s Starter Business Bundle (varies by state): The plan includes a custom state-filed articles, an operating agreement, name availability search, meeting minutes and resolution, ownership certificates, EIN services, website domain and email, tax and accounting support, lawsuit defense, as well as state and local business licenses.

To determine pricing information on two packages, you may call the company during regular business hours and speak to a representative.

  • LegalZoom's Pro ($249 + state fees): The plan features all services from the Basic package plus an operating agreement, EIN, access to 150+ customizable legal documents for one year, unlimited eSignatures for one year, a customizable website. When we chose this plan, we also received two 30-minute attorney consultations on our legal topics.

3. Top-Level Plan Comparison: Inc Authority Fast Track vs LegalZoom Premium

  • Inc Authority’s Fast Track/Executive Business Bundle (varies by state): The plan includes the features from the previous package plus a private banking specialist, personalized business advice, expedited filing, and an INC success advisor.
  • LegalZoom's Premium ($299 + state fees):The package features everything from the Pro plan, plus a 6-month trial of bookkeeping tools with income and expense tracking, unlimited invoices, and automatic mileage capture.

With Inc Authority, my documents reached the state within 6 business days on the standard plan. When I needed it faster, the $49 expedited option got my filing submitted within 1 business day.

With LegalZoom, I found standard processing takes anywhere from 5–14 business days, with a $99 upgrade available for 1-day filing. What stood out to me was how each company handles the order queue.

Inc Authority treated every customer the same regardless of what they paid — something I appreciated. With LegalZoom, I noticed cheaper plans move slower; customers on lower-tier packages simply wait longer.

Once either company sends your paperwork off to the state, neither of them can speed up what happens next — that timeline is entirely in your state's hands.

Registered Agent Services

Inc Authority provides a free registered agent service for a year with their basic formation package. After the first year, they charge $179 annually for this service. Their top registered agent service can help file your LLC, annual compliance reminders, forward mail, and more.

You can avail of LegalZoom's registered agent service as an additional feature for $249 a year. The package includes mail alerts, tax and annual report deadline notifications, and unlimited cloud storage.

Additional Services

Apart from the features included in their packages, Inc Authority and LegalZoom offer the following additional services:

1. Business Financing

Inc Authority provides financing to qualified businesses and individuals in two forms.

Business Credit features a multi-tier credit building system, as well as access to loans and a capital, while Business Funding includes a loan funding analysis, unsecured personal loans, and high credit limits.

LegalZoom does not offer a business financing service.

2. Trademark Registration

With Inc Authority, you can get a trademark through their Trademark Registration Program. The company will apply on your behalf and provide reports regarding the status of your application.

To get a quote, Venture Smarter had to contact the company since the price is not disclosed in their website.

LegalZoom offers a trademark registration for $599 plus state fees. The package features legal counsel and guidelines to ensure the application is approved.

3. Business License Report

To receive comprehensive permits and licensing information, a client of mine availed of the business license report package from LegalZoom for $99.

The business license report is already included on Inc Authority's Starter Bundle package.

4. Annual Report Filing

To stay compliant with state business laws and remain in good standing, you have to file annual reports on time.

With LegalZoom, you can avail of an annual report plan for $99 plus state fees. It features the creation and filing of the document to the state.

Inc Authority does not offer annual report filing service.
