If you're thinking of incorporating your business, numerous LLC services like BizFilings can help you.

As a seasoned business consultant, I gained over a decade of practice working with several formation services across all states.

Based on my personal insights and collaboration with our legal team, I'll provide an extensive review on BizFilings to help you decide if their services are suitable for your business.

The article will cover the features, service packages and pricing of using the platform and employing the company.

What Is BizFilings?

BizFilings is an online LLC service headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin. I've personally collaborated with the company and can attest to their reliability and efficiency. It has been in operation since 1996 and has assisted in the formation of over 500,000 corporate organizations.

Aside from the basic services, I learned that BizFilings offers supplementary features designed to keep business entities in good standing with the respective Secretary of State.

This specific feature keeps the company compliant, totally legitimate and protected from legal issues.

After availing of their service and navigating the platform, I found out that they feature additional resources to educate customers and a team of specialists, each with an area of expertise.

BizFilings has longstanding experience in assisting entrepreneurs with the launch, growth, and management of their businesses.

It joined the Corporation Trust Company in 2002, which has more than 125 years of expertise assisting companies with managing their legal compliance obligations.

Service Features & Prices

BizFilings offers three-tiered LLC formation packages. Since I've registered with the company, I tried all three plans and I became familiar with each of the packages.

Here's a brief description of each plan.

  • BizFilings Basic Package ($99 + state fees): Includes business creation fundamentals, business entity name verification, and drafting of the necessary paperwork. Additionally, you also get the BizComply tool which provides 24-hour business monitoring. You can also enjoy their expedited processing and have your business filings incorporated between 4 and 6 weeks.
  • Standard Package ($229 + state fees): All basic plan features plus expedited shipping, LLC kit seal, operating agreement template, and half a year of statutory agent service. The turnaround for this plan is 7 and 10 working days.
  • Complete Package ($359 + state fees): All features of the previous plan plus compliance DVD, federal tax ID acquisition, business bank account, state document copies, and swift delivery.
  • Registered Agent Service ($39): Registered agent service is included in the Complete Package, but if you choose any of the two remaining plans, you will pay $39.

Since I navigated the platform myself, the following image illustrates the different packages and their specific features. The sample platform below applies to New York rates, simply click the state you want to register your business in to view and compare the different packages.

Downsides

A worried man writing down notes about the downsides of BizFilings

BizFilings' prices are relatively high for most services. The supplier costs roughly $70 more than some of its competitors for several of its offerings.

Some of its services are described loosely, and the offer does not fully reflect reality. For example, the expedited processing option to speed up your purchase does not significantly reduce turnaround time.

BizFilings also has abnormally few customer reviews, given its experience and track record.

Who Should Hire BizFilings?

Entrepreneurs who need a smooth and proper LLC formation should hire BizFilings. According to several clients who just started a business, this online service can help you save time and money by navigating the complicated state and federal regulations for new enterprises.

BizFilings is also an excellent alternative for nonprofit and charity founders. It is one of the few services in the market that provide nonprofit incorporation packages.

- Colin, Alaska

"My order was completed in less than 7 days after purchasing their complete package."

Comparison To Other Services

Let's look at how BizFilings compares to ZenBusiness, Northwest Registered Agent, and IncFile LLC services.

1. ZenBusiness

When we reviewed ZenBusiness we found that it provides significantly lower pricing than BizFilings.

ZenBusiness will create your company for free (you only need to pay the state charge). Given that BizFilings costs $99, ZenBusiness wins from this.

ZenBusiness also has an advantage when it comes to customer feedback since we have over 10,000 positive customer reviews online, whereas BizFilings has very few.

Both services are equally simple to use as you can easily traverse their web platforms since they are user-friendly and straightforward.

As for turnarounds, there's a slight time difference, but they offer it based on the package you select and the state you're filing in.

Regarding experience, BizFilings has over a decade of experience in forming LLCs and has worked with more than 500,000 businesses.

ZenBusiness, on the other hand, was formed in 2015 and has served 300,000 clients.

2. Northwest Registered Agent

BizFilings and Northwest Registered Agent are well-known and respectable businesses that provide LLC formation services.

Few rivals can match the degree of personalized customer care offered by Northwest Registered Agent.

Additionally, BizFilings has relatively few reviews online, whereas Northwest consistently obtains thousands of positive client feedback.

Unlike BizFilings, which offers agent services for 6 months, Northwest Registered Agent gives a full year of registered agent service with their LLC formation options.

The turnaround times at Northwest Registered Agent vary by state, and they also provide expedited processing, which can take a few days.

In this aspect, BizFilings operates differently because their response times depend on the degree of LLC service you get from them.

Their Standard and Complete packages require between 7 and 10 business days, while their Basic package typically takes 4-6 weeks.

They also provide expedited processing service; however, there is an additional $60 price on top of the state expediting fee.

3. IncFile

The user interface of IncFile is more up-to-date than that of BizFiling. IncFile also provides one full year of free registered agent services, while BizFiling only provides six months.

IncFile provides a free LLC formation basic package (you only pay state fees) plus a free registered agent service, whereas BizFilings charges $99 for incorporation.

When it comes to customer care, these LLC formation services are comparable. The hours of operation for BizFilings are more extended from 9 am to 8 pm ET than those of IncFile, which are 10 am to 7 pm ET on weekdays.

On their respective websites, IncFile and BizFilings offer real-time order status monitoring systems that help you keep track of your formation from placing an order until your finalized papers are mailed to you.

FAQs

Is BizFilings Legitimate?

Yes, BizFilings is legitimate. This limited liability company service has been operating since 1996 and has worked with over 500,000 businesses.

Does BizFilings Have a Refund Policy?

Yes, BizFilings has a refund policy, although it's convoluted. When you request a refund while they're processing your order, you'll receive the funds minus a $50 fee.

Is BizFilings LLC Service Good For Your Business?

BizFilings distinguishes itself by providing customers access to a vast network of business resources.

However, it's disappointing that they charge more for their basic plan, and their registered agent service lasts only six months.

If you want a well-rounded LLC company that offers formation services for free plus affordable registered agent services, then ZenBusiness is the way to go.

ZenBusiness combines speed, expertise, quality, and value for money.

The company also manages your annual report and gives up to two yearly modifications, ensuring that your company is in good standing with the state.
