The vibrant entrepreneurial spirit returns to Durango as West Slope Startup Week, hosted by Startup Colorado, makes its grand comeback from August 19 to 23 at the Fort Lewis College Center for Innovation.
This free educational event is set to unite entrepreneurs and small business owners from across the region, offering them a wealth of resources and opportunities to grow their ventures.
Startup Colorado, a beacon for rural entrepreneurs, is dedicated to creating a robust network that spans the state.
They provide crucial support in raising capital, educational initiatives, mentorship programs, and government aid.
Among their standout offerings is the Founder CO-OPetition, a pre-accelerator program designed to prepare entrepreneurs for advanced programs like the Southwest Colorado Accelerator Program for Entrepreneurs.
This year’s event promises to be the most impactful yet, featuring over 70 educational sessions led by regional business leaders.
Topics on the agenda include expanding and franchising businesses, digital marketing strategies, the integration of artificial intelligence, and investment acquisition.
Notably, Startup Colorado has fostered collaborations with local businesses such as TripOutside, EsoTerra Cider, and Gravity Lab. “This year’s program is the best yet,” declared Vanessa McCrann, the event’s lead organizer.
“We have successful entrepreneurs from across the state leading sessions that will benefit the entire startup community.”
Adding to the inclusivity, an expanded selection of Spanish-language sessions will be available through the Latine Program.
A highlight of the week is the Startup Colorado Pitch Competition on August 21, where five rural founders will vie for $280,000 in investment opportunities.
“This event is for everyone,” McCrann emphasized, noting that Main Avenue business owners will gain invaluable insights in workshops covering finance, marketing, and human resources.
Join the camaraderie, soak in the knowledge, and propel your business to new heights at this year’s West Slope Startup Week. Because, as McCrann aptly puts it, “We learn faster and better when we’re together.”
